How to Create a Privacy Policy for an iOS App
Every iOS app needs a privacy policy URL before submission. The policy should match what the app actually collects, why it collects it, which third-party services receive data, and how users can contact support. The safest workflow is to audit the app first, then write the policy, then fill App Store Connect privacy nutrition labels from the same source of truth.
Data inventory
List account data, identifiers, purchases, diagnostics, analytics, user content, and any camera, microphone, contacts, or location access. If a permission exists only for an optional workflow, say so clearly.
Policy page
Host the policy on a stable HTTPS page. Include app name, effective date, data categories, third-party processors, retention notes, user rights, and support email. Keep the policy URL working before and after launch.
