App Store Screenshot Sizes Guide for iPhone and iPad

App Store screenshots are not just decoration. They are the first product proof most users see after search results, ads, or a review link. A good screenshot set should match required device sizes, explain the core use case in seconds, and stay readable on small screens. Start by choosing the right device family, then build a five-frame story: problem, main workflow, result, credibility, and call to action.

Required planning

Prepare 6.7-inch iPhone, 6.5-inch iPhone, and 12.9-inch iPad exports when the app supports those devices. Keep text short, leave safe margins around notches and rounded corners, and avoid putting legal or pricing claims directly in the image unless they are verified in the app metadata.

Asset workflow

Use one master copy system before resizing. The headline should describe the user outcome, not the feature name. Export PNGs, inspect them at actual store scale, and keep filenames ordered so App Store Connect upload stays predictable.
